DJ Loko and Kamran Ahmed may not be names you recognize off the bat, but their song “Asia Diya” is catching on with crowds everywhere! Both artists have previous experience on the music scene.
Pakistani singer, Kamran Ahmed, made his Bollywood debut as a playback singer for actor Emran Hashmi in “Jannat.” The hit song “Lambi Judai” got Kamran recognition as MTV named him Best Breakthrough Artist in 2009.
DJ Loko adds some urban flair to this collaboration with his slick lyrics. He was born Amit Jethani and dreamt of becoming a rock star. From experimenting with music software to studying audio engineering, DJ Loko has the knowledge and the passion for creating music. His videos and music are on YouTube and have reached 48,000 hits!
With two strong artists, it’s no surprise that their collaboration has created a smash hit. When asked about the collaboration, Kamran Ahmed said, “DJ Loko a.k.a Amit Jethani was introduced to me by Amir Chaudhary. Back in Karachi, I was progressively extending my pop-rock album and Amit had touched Bombay for some music endeavors. We started off with a great chat, followed by receiving a beat’n’melody demo from Amit. Since it was club song, I was hit by the idea of fabricating a club incident when I began writing down the lyrics. It took me back into the days when we use to club in Dubai, entering a totally strange wave of people and how your eyes spot that one person you will always remember. I hope… we hope that the song is remembered the same way… a stranger who becomes a timeless wish…ankhon mein tu hi tu… tu hi tu meri arzooo!”
